What qualifications does your onsite team hold?

All onsite staff holds OH&S Induction cards (White Cards).

Scaffolders also hold a License to Perform High Risk Work (basic, intermediate or advanced).

In addition, we employ staff with other relevant licenses such as Medium or Heavy Rigid vehicle license, Forklift license, Riggers License, Working With Children checks, Electrical Passport, ASIC security clearance, First Aid certificates and more.

Does Western Scaffold hold current public liability and WorkCover insurance?

Yes.

Western Scaffold maintains current Public Liability insurance ($20 million) and WorkCover insurance on all staff members.

Western Scaffold is happy to provide certificates of currency to account clients upon request.

Our site has special requirements for all onsite workers. Do you accommodate for site inductions or other licensing requirements specific to our site?

Yes.

We often work on sites that have special conditions that require our staff to obtain security clearances, undertake site inductions and training courses.

Many of our staff already has Working With Children checks to allow them to work in school zones, Aviation Security Identification Card (ASIC) security clearance for working in restricted areas in airports, and Electrical Passport required by Victorian Electricity Supply Industry (VESI).

If your site has special conditions, please discuss this with your Account Manager.

How can I arrange a free scaffolding rental quote?

Most jobs can be quoted off the plan, however site inspections are available for complicated projects or existing buildings that don’t have plans available.

To request your free scaffolding rental quote, please send your floor plans and elevations along with your full business contact details. It is also helpful to advise which areas you require scaffolding and how many weeks you would like quoted.

Do you arrange onsite visits to quote scaffolding hire Melbourne?

Yes.

Some projects can be quoted from your plans, however we will visit your site for complicated jobs or existing buildings that don’t have plans available.

It is helpful to email or fax your floor plans and elevations to us in advance if possible.

What is the minimum hire period available on scaffolding hire Melbourne?

Scaffold hire periods start at 2 weeks.

Can Western Scaffold install my scaffold outside normal business hours?

Commercial builders often require installations and dismantle being conducted outside normal business hours.

Western Scaffold is happy to arrange installations and dismantles on weekends, night shifts, public holidays and other time frames outside our normal business hours.

Please advise your Account Manager at the time of quote if you require works undertaken outside normal business hours.

How can I confirm my scaffold hire installation?

Scaffolding installations are confirmed by signing the Scaffold Hire Agreement section of your scaffolding rental quote. We require 25% deposit to confirm your scaffolding installation date with the balance required prior to installation. Account clients may use their credit account for deposit and balance payments.

Please note, bookings are not confirmed until all paperwork and payments have been received by Western Scaffold’s office.

Deposits are not refundable, however we are happy to reschedule your installation or dismantle booking free of charge providing you give at least 24 hours notice on a business day. Rescheduling is subject to availability.

How far in advance do I need to book my scaffold hire?

Generally, 7-10 working days is sufficient to book your scaffolding installation. These time frames should be used as a guide, as they can vary depending on demand at the time. Urgent booking requests may be possible depending on availability.

It is advisable to allow extra time around busy periods such as Christmas, Easter and long weekends.

We recommend staying in close contact with your Account Manager as your project progress to ensure you secure the most convenient installation and dismantle dates.

How do I off-hire my scaffold hire and arrange dismantle?

Your hire charges will continue as per your quote until your off-hire request is received.

You can off-hire your scaffold hire by emailing [email protected] or speaking directly with your Account Manager.

Once you have off-hired your scaffold, Western Scaffold will schedule your dismantle from the date you nominated it is ready.

It is important to ensure your site is ready for us to access, dismantle and collect the scaffold. Additional charges and rescheduling may apply if your site is not ready for dismantle.

Can weather or other factors affect my scheduled installation or dismantle?

Yes.

Extreme weather may force a reschedule of scaffold works. In this case, your Account Manager or our office will be in touch to advise of any scheduling changes.

If your site is running behind or affected by bad weather, please contact your Account Manager as quickly as possible to reschedule scaffold works.

Additional charges may apply if we arrive to a site that is unsafe or otherwise not ready for your scaffold installation or dismantle.

Do I need insurance to cover hired scaffolding against loss or damage while it is on my building site?

Yes.

All scaffolding is the responsibility of the client from the date it is installed until our crew arrives onsite to collect it.

Western Scaffold may charge the client for any scaffolding that is lost or damaged during the course of the hire period.

In many cases, your building insurance will cover loss or damage to scaffolding during the construction process, however it is your responsibility to check coverage with your insurance company prior to hiring scaffolding.

Yes.

Our imported steel modular scaffold (Kwikstage) has been independently engineer tested to meet or exceed Australian Standards (AS-1576).

I don’t know exactly what items I need for my job. Can you help?

Yes.

You may want to simply purchase enough scaffolding for a specific building project, or add to your existing stocks to suit a variety of needs. Western Scaffold can recommend items to suit your requirements.

Can I have my company name stamped on steel planks?

Yes.

Clients purchasing container lots of steel planks can have their company name stamped on caps for no additional cost. This is a fantastic security feature to help protect against stock loss.

What are Acrow Props?

Acrow Props are an economic, practical and versatile solution constructed from heavy-duty steel to provide support between 1.6m and 4.8m high.

They are easy to transport, with size 0, 1 and 2 Acrow Props able to fit in a standard ute. Manual handling and storage is also simple, with Acrow Props weighing between 13kg and 27kg each.

Props are available in painted or hot dip galvanized stock. Painted Acrow Props are usually supplied in yellow for visibility. Custom paint colours are available for imported orders (production and shipping times apply).

Acrow Props can support up to 35 kiloNewton (kN), which is equivalent to approximately 7,860 pounds.

I’m looking for Acrow Props for sale. What sizes do you sell?

We have size 0 to 4 steel Acrow Props for sale, and can supply either painted or hot dip galvanized Acrow Props.

Props can be purchased singularly or in bundles of 25 per size. Discounts apply for imported container loads shipped direct to your local Australian port or to your door.

What are the sizes, height ranges, weights and working load limits of your Acrow Props?

We have size 0 to 4 steel Acrow Props for sale.

Acrow Props range from 13kg to 27kg each, and can support up to 35kN (approximately 7,860 pounds).

The height ranges for Acrow Props are between 1.06m (size 0) to 4.8m (size 4).

What kind of aluminium scaffold do you sell?

Western Scaffold sell aluminium mobile towers, aluminium ladders and aluminium planks.

Aluminium scaffold is a versatile, efficient and light weight solution to many light to medium duty working at height requirements. Many builders and trades benefit from keeping aluminium scaffold stocks as it is easy to transport, store and erect and can be used interally and externally.

Painters, electricians, plasterers, maintenance works, window installers and other trades use aluminium scaffold so often that purchasing this scaffolding makes the most economic sense.

What are your business hours?

Our office hours are 9am – 5pm, Monday – Friday (excluding Public Holidays & Christmas period).

Normal hours for our onsite scaffolding crew is between 7:30am – 4:00pm Monday – Friday. Times may vary depending on weather, demand and other factors.

Onsite works outside normal hours may be arranged upon request at time of quote.

Where are you located?

Our office is located at 57-59 Cyanamid Street, Laverton North VIC 3026.

Our scaffolding crew works all across Melbourne, primarily in the fast growing Western and Northern estates. We also service many regional Victoria sites including Geelong, Leopold, Corio, Ocean Grove, Barwon Heads, Ballarat and Lalor.

What are your payment methods?

We gladly accept EFT, CBA branch deposit, company cheque and cash payments. Cheque payments attract a 3 business day clearance period.

Can I get a credit account with Western Scaffold?

Western Scaffold is happy to provide credit accounts to registered builders, subject to approval.

Credit Application forms are available from our office and processed within 7 business days from receipt.
